DESCRIPTION: This gall is caused by a mite and takes on the appearance of yellowish rolled up leaf margins that can be quite numerous. The mites live in the leaf roll and leave only during winter where they dwell in bark crevices or buds. The erineum is on the underside and the red, violet or whitish hairs have swollen tips. DISTRIBUTION: Fequent throughout. HABITAT: On Hawthorn. |
